The fullowing proccediugs occurrod in the House of Representativos yesterday: Mr. Hopkius, (Washington) ofïered the foüo'.ving resolutiou : Resolved, 'fluit the Goveruor be instructed to direct the Attoruey General to instituto erimiual prooeedings against Simon Camerou, John J. PattorsQn, Williaui Brobst, and Ileury Thomas. Mr. 13euedict uiuved to amend by strikiug out the Dames of General Catneron and the others in the resolutiou, and insert the name of T. Jeífer=on Jioyer. Disagreed to by a striot party vote. The vote was thcn taken on the rcsolution of Mr. Hopkins, whea Mr. Laporte, republioao, voted aye, and desired to enter his reasons for so doing on the journal which were as follows: - " As Simon Cameron has, as I am io formed, eonstantly asserted sinoe his defeat that but for his failuro to obtain my vote he wou'd have been eleoted, and as" that assertiou can only be true, in my opinión, upon the grouuds that he liad purchased a democratie vote, I vote aye." The original resolution of Mr. Hopkins ( WasLi.) tliou pássed - yeas 49, uays 44. The resolutioQ then being on final passage Mr. Champneys rose to denounce the the act as the most infarnous violation of the coiistitution whicli he had ever heard. Wlien Mr. Trimmer ealled tha previous quiistiou. and Mr. Champneys was -ordered to take his seat. Passed ñnally.
