The council is largo and influential, and much ïcitement prevaüs ia the townn which tisheld. Kev. Edward Beceher, D. D, brother of the pastor, is present. The Points in the letters missive whioli was sent to the churehes, were as follows : ''It seems to us that several doctrines preaehed by our pastor, Eev. Mr. Beocher, are not in accordance with the faith since delivered to the saints and beid generally by the cburehes in New England, viz: 'The doctrine of fore existence of the humau soal - of the atonement - f the state of souls after dcatli, and of divine sorrow.'"
