The oircúlating notes of this Bank are based and securedby the deposit of United States Bonds with the Treasurer of the United States, making them as secure in' the hands of the people as United States Bonds or Notes ; in addition to which, the stockholders are Hable for all debts contracted by the Bank, for circulation, deposits or otherwise, to the amount of the par value of the shares held by them, in addition to the amount invested in such shares - and by lav the bilis are made receivable lor taxes and all debts due the Government of the United States, (except duties on imports) and are payable by the Government to individuals for all debts (except interest on the public debt) tlius making them a secure as well as a par currency in all parts of the United States. i Regular rates of discount, seven per cent.
