ï. 13. Millar, of Clayton, Ind., has communicated to the New York Farmer' Olub the following simple receipts fur niaking vinegar : "Fill nearly full any vessel, jug, crock, pan, tub or barrel witb pure rain or soft water, sweeten it with any kind of ïnolasses (the qua-jtity is not material), set it iu a moderately warm place, or in the sun, cover with sieve ganze or net, to keep out flies and gnats. In due process of time it will be vinegar, when it must be put inte a suitablo vessel and stopped closo. To convert eider iuto vinegar - if made frora sweet applcs, it is only nceessary to set the barrel íq a warm placo and knóck out the bung ; if froin sour, bung up tight. Vinegar barrels should be wcü painted. as they as t-hey are liable to be caten by worms.
