New York, Aug. 4. The Riel) mond Dispatch of the lst inst., is reoeived at Fortress Monroe. It coutains tbu fo.lowing : "As a partial relief from the unwclcorae news whieh we have been receivmg from the soutli, we have now the iuteligence that our for.ces liove gained a deeided victory in Louiniana. The President yesterday reeeived a dispatch from Lieutenant General Hardee, stating that Gen. Dick Taylor had au engagement with tbc enemy under Gen. Banks, and that he had completely routed thein capturing 6,000 prisoners." The Dispalch published dispatches received from Weldon and Goldsboro, N. C, announoing that the Federal forees had been repulsed near Fort Branch or Jackson on the Koauoke Kiver, and had returned to Plymouth. The dispatch sayi the bridge over tlie Tar Kiver on the Wilmington and Weldon Rond, burnt by the Yankees, has. been rebuilt, and trains are passing over it. Freight is reeeived aud seut over the road a usual. Mempliis, Aug. 1. Col. Hatch has driven lliehardson's band of guerrillas, a bout 1,000 strong, down into Mississippi, and bus turned bis atteiitiou to Gen. Piliow's forces,,who are in the neigbborbood o( Paris, Tennessee. The Rifihmond Enqxdrer of August lst, says it is reported that a force of Yankee cavalry bas appeared at a store in Staff ord, fifteen miles east of F-redericksburg. Gen. Neil Dow will proeeed on a trip to Mobile this rnorning, escorted by two officers of Confedérate pólice. We are not inormed of the purpose of sending him to Mobile.
