A. legal friend in the West sends the "ollowing : Several yeart, ago I was prnctioing law in one of the mauy beautiful towns in Wisconsin. One very warm day, while seated in my office at work, I was interrupted by the entranoe of a boy, the son of one oí' ray cliente, who liad walked into town six miles, in a. blazing sun f,or I he purpose of procuring a Bible. Anxious to encourage him in his eurly piety, I left the brief on which I was eugaged. and went over with him to the stand of an oíd Presbyteiian deacon who lrid the much coveted books in charge. I iutroduced him to the deacon telling him the cireumstancos He praised t,he boy very highly ; was delighted to see a young mau so early seeking after the trutli, &c, and presented hini with the best bound bible iu bis collection.
