Washington, Sept. 28. The Hon Emeredn Etheridge is, at the instanco of prominent Union men oí Tennessee, endeavoring to obtain the consent of the Administration lor Gen. W. B. C'iunpbell to be inaugurated as Govenor of Tennessee, on the grotind that he was voted for in the various courrtiee on the first Thursday in August irtHi, ,he day fixed by law ior the election of in that State since 1835. It is claimed that he reoeived all the votes cnst, and in that State the rnajority of all the votes given eleots. A large vote it issaid bv those gentlemen would have been thrownthroughout the State had not Gov. Johnaon and his advigers opposed the eleotion. - They also say that the inauguration of Gov. Campbell would relieve Governor ' Jo nson frorn his labora, and the peoplo of the State having a civil Governor would have no difh'culty in reurganizing the entire State Government immetliately.
