Cairo, Dee. 1. The steamer Lady Frankliu, Meinphis 29, with 289 cotton bales for Cincinnati, has ai rived. Guerrillas erected a battery, water proof. below Vicksburg, whieh fired into the steaniers Weleome and Emerald. Five or six persons are reported killed and wounded. The towboat Hamitt was fired into at Grand Grflf, Sho reports a battery of seven 12-pounders two miles below the niouth of Red lliver. Refugees reported 1,300 guerrillas there. This battery fired into the transport Black Hawk. Thirteen shells burst in her texas and set fire to ihe boat whieh burnfthe pilot-house and texas. One negro killed and four white raen badly wounded. The gunboat Choctaw sileneed the battery. A guard house and block of buildings were burned at Columbus, Kentueky, to-day. It was fired by prisoners. None escaped.
