Philadelphia, Dec. 22. By a gentleman who left Riehmond on the 20tb, we have tho following later information : He says tho Eiohmond papera of the 20th have dispatches from Bristol, Tennessee, stating that Gen. Longstreet, with his ariBy, was advaneing and there was no doubt that a battle would be fought in the vicinity of Jonesboro, Temiessee. Reinforcements froin Col. Jackson's aud Gen. Sam. Jones' command were going to Longstreet. A dispatch from Meriden, Mississippi, reports that Joe. Johnston's army is in motion, and it is oonjectured that it ïntends to reinforce Gen. Hardee. It is also rumored in Riohmond that Gen. Lee will be seut to take cornmand in Nol thwestern Georgia, as the only hope of retrieving the heavy disasters to the rebels in that quatter. His army in Virginia has gone into wiuter quarters, except oüe división under G-en. Early. Some uneasiness aud exciteuieut existedm the vioinity of títaunton, Virginia, in consequenoe of the near approaeh of Gen. Averill's command. Imboden and Rhodes were endeavoring to oppose Averill's further advance. aud a fight is expected in that quarter. In the rebel Congreas tho substitute bilí has been abrogated, and all persons who have put substitutes in the army are compelled to go themselves. Henry Foote still continúes his severo denunciations of tho rebel admiuistration. It is also rumored that a eommissioner will 3e sent to the Court of IVTadrid in behalf of the rebel govornineot.
