L rí. .-s'" ? ,. 1' -es the systein to S"2í--wÍ?5vtSÍÍ ja]j nj0 jjsorjet an(j "-s? - deeay, The scrofuloui eontamination i-variously eaused by mercurial disease, low living, disordered digestión from unliealtliy food, iinpure air, filtli and filthy 'habits, the depressing vlees, and, above all, tíy the venereal infection. Whatever be its origin, it is heredltary in the constitution, descending " from parents to ohildren unto the third and fourth peneration ; " indeed, it seems to bo the rod of Him who says, " I vi!l visit the iniquities of the fathers upon t'neir children." Tho diseases vhieh it originates take various names, according to the organs it attacks. In the lungs, Scrofula produces tubercles, and finally , Consumption ; in the glands, sweliings whïch suppurate anij beeome uleerous sores ; in tho Etomach and bowcls, dcrangements which produce iudigestion, dyspepsia, and liver comjilaints ; on the skin, eruptivo and eutaneous affections. These all having the samo origin, require tho same reniedy, viz. purification and invigoration of the bloo'd. Purify the blood, and these dangcrous distempers" leave you. With feeble, foul, or oorrupted blood, you can80t have health ; with that " life of thé flesh " healthy, you cannot háve scrofulous disease. Ayer's Sarsparilla is corhpounded from tho most effectual antidotes that medical science has díscovered for this afflieting distemper, and for the cure of the disorders it entails. That it is far superior to any otlier remedy yet devised. is knöwn by all vho have given it a trial. That it does com bine virtues tnüy extraordinary in their effect upon this class of complaints, is ndisputably proven by the groal; ïnultitude of publicly koown and remarkable cures it has made of the following diseases : King's EvÜ Or Glandular Sweliings, Tumors, Eruptions, Pimples, Blotches and Sores, Erysipelas, Kose or Si. Anthony's Fire, Salt Bheum, Scald Head, Coughs from tuberculous deposite in the lungs, White Sweliings, Debility, Dropsy Neuralgia, Dyspepsia or Indigestión, Syphüis and Syphilitic Infections, Mercurial Diseases, Female Weaknesses, ind, indeed, the whole series of complaints that arise from impurity of the blood. Minute reports of individual cases may be found in Ayek's Amekican Aluiakac, which is furnished to tho druggists for gratuitous distribution, wherein may bo learned the directions for its use, and some of the remarkable cures which it has made when all other remedies had failed to afford relief. Those cases are purposely taken from all sections of the country, in order that every reader may have access to some one who can speak to him of its benefits from personal experience. Scrofula depresses the vital energics, and thus leaves its victims far more subject to disease and its fatiü results than are healthy constitutions. Hen ce it tends lo shqrten, and does greatly shorten, the average duration of human life. Tho vast importance of these considerar tions lias led us to spend years in perfecting a remedy which is adequate to its cure. This we iiöw offer to the public under the name of Ater's Sarsaparilla, although it is composed of ingredients, some of which exceed the best of Sarsaparitta in alterative power. By its aid you may protect yourseh" from the suffering and danger of these disorders. Purgo out the foul corruptions that rot and fester ir. the blood ; purge out the causes of disease, and vigorous health will foUow. By its peculiar virtues this remedy stimulates the vital functions, and thus expela the distempers which lurk wiihin tho eystem or burst out on any part of it. We know the public have been deceived by many compounds of Sarsajg, nlla,, that promised much and did nothing ; but they will neither be deceived nor disappointed ip this lts virtues have been proven by abundant trial, and thcro remains no question of its surpassing excellence for the cure of tho afflieting diseases it is intended to reach. Although under the same name, it is a very different medicine from any other which has been before the people, and is far more effectual than any otlier which has ever been available to them. ATER'S CHERRY PECTORAL, The World's Great Eemedy for Coughs, Coldg, Ineipient Consumption, and for the relief of Consumptive patients in advanced stages of tho disease. This bas been so long usctl and so universally known, that we nced do no more than apsure tho public that its Q'.ialitv is kept tip to the best it ever has been, arid that it may be relied on to do all it has ever done.
