Chime out your peáis, Sweet meniory bells, Upon the lease of long ago, Wilh pleasure blossoms all aglow- Up Ibrough the past land with its shgn Of beauty, and of joy serene - And through the aisles with shadows dim, Peal out yoursoleiim uicmory hymn. Chime out your peals, Sweet meraory beils, For days of childhood fled away - For frolics on the new mown hay- For bubbling laughterfull of olee- For all the youhg bearts' jubilee, When like the bee, from bud and flower, We draw life's sweets from every hour. Toll out your peals, öad ineniory bolls, For opening graves and dropping tears, The loved and lost of othcr years- The voices stilled forevermore, Upou this fading mortal shore - The folded hands and quiet breast, That went to everlasting rest. Sob out your peals, Wild memory bells, For clierished dreams of blissbelow, Now scattered o'er a sea of woe ; For buried hopes and sad farewells, Toll out your wildly moaning knells, For hidden griefs, toll slow and deep, yhile hearts in silence droop to weep. Toll on, ye bells, Sweot memory bells, With solenin yoices, soft and low, Thus floatiiig up from long ago. The memory bêlls will ever toll ■ffithin the chaplets of t!ie aoul ; Ajid sweetly chiiTie or sadly moan, With joy or grief', in under tone.
