The peculiar taint or 5fcW fta infection whwh we eaü iSÖ mÊl Scrofula lurks in yf . -$? the constitutions of -3 lik 0wtá multitudes of men. It "tváffl either produces, or is JijSg. feebled, vitiated state ftSiefígíí$p'''W-ot' the lilood, wherein Si;Pfe Jigthat flaid becomes infeSK í -wSii cornpgtcnt to sustain ;ÍT1n. VMi-ï-RT? G va forcea ia their jjfeJajN jËSjjjy vigorons action, and jjjlw jijjSffiáálpJSi lcaves the system to üüiiïSj-iüfeSfJ' fall ato disorder and deoay. Tho scrofulous contaminaron is'variously causea by mercurial disease, low living, disordered digestión from unhealthy food, impure air, filth aml filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, nbovo all, by the venereal infection. Whatever be its origm, it is hereditary in the constitución, descending " from parents to children unto the third and fourth generation ; " indeed, it seems to be the rod of Him who says, " I will visit the ioiquities of the fathers upon their children." Ths diseases which it originales take various names, according to the organs it attacks. In the lungs, Scrofula produces tubercles, and finally Consumption ; in the glands, swellings which suppurate and become ulcerous sores ; in the Btomach and bowels, derangements which produce indigestión, dyspepsia, and liver complaints; on the skin, ernptive and cutaneous affections. These all having the same origin, require the samo remedy, viz. purification and iavigoration of the blood. Purify the blood, and these dangerous distempers leave you. With feeblo, foul, or eorrupted blood, you cannot have health ; with that " Hfe of thé flesh " healthy, you cannot have scrofulous diaease. Ayer's Sarsaparilla ia compounded from the most effectual antidotes that medical science has discovered for this afflicting distemper, and fpr the cure of the disorders it entails. That it is far superior to any other remedy yet devised. is known by all who have given it a trial. That it does combine virtues truly extraordinary in their effect ppon this class of complaints, is indisputably proven by the great multitude of publicly known and remarkable cures it has made of the following diseases ; KÜlg's Ev-il 01 Glandular Swellings, Tumors, Erup, íions, Pimples, Blotches and Sores, Ery sipelas, Kose or St. Anthony's Fire, Salt Eheum, Scald Hsaci, Coughs from tuberculous deposits ia the lungs, White Swellings, Debility, Dropsy, Neuralgia, Dyspepsia or Indigestión, Syphilis and Syphilitic Infections, Mercurial Siseases, Female Weaknesses, and, indeed, the whole 6eries of complaints that arise from impnrity of tha blood. Minute reports of individual cases may be foand in Ayer's American Almanac, which is furnished to the druggist3 for gratuitous distribution, wherein may be learned the directions for its use, and some of the remarkable cures which it has made Wren all other remedies had failed to afibrd relief. Those cases are purposely taken from all sections of the country, in order that every reader may have access to some one who can speak to him of its benefits from personal experience. Scrofula depresses the vital energies, and thus leaves its victims far more subject to disease and its fatal results than are healthy constituí tions. Henee it tends to shorten, and does greatly shorten, the average duration of human life. The vast importance of these considerations has led us to spend years in perfecting a remedy which is adequate to its cure. This we now offer to the public nnder the name of Ayer's Sarsapaiulla, although it is composed of ingredients, some of which excecd the best of Sarsuparilla in alterativo power. By its aid you may profeet yourself from the suffering and danger of these disorders. Purgo out the foul corruptions that rot and fester in the blood; purge out the causes of disease, and vigorous health will follow. Iy its. peculiar virtues this remedy stimulates the vital functions, and thus expels the distempers wbjch lurk within the system or burst out on any pavt of it. We know the public have been üeceived by many oompounös of Sarsaparida , that promised much and did nothing ; but tliey will neither bo deceived nor disappointed ip this lts virtues have been proven by abundant trial, and there remains no questioft of its surpassing excellence for the cure of tho afflicting diseases it is intended to reach, Although under the same name, it is a vcry different medicine from any other which has been before the people, and is far more effectual than any other which has ever heen available to them. AYEIJ'S CHERRY PECTORAL, The World's Great Eemedy for Coughs, Colds, Incipient Consumption, and for the relief ef Oonsumptive patients in advanced stages of the disease. This has been so long nsed and so nniversallv known, that we need do no more thaii assure tho public that its quality is kept up to the best it ever has been, and that it may be relied on to do all it has ever dono.
