At a meeting oí the Bar of Waahtenaw County, held on Tuesday, the 23d, the following preamblo and resolutions were reported by a comrnittee previously appointed, and adopted unanimously ; and at a session of the Circuit Court, held same day, after appropriate remarks by Messrs. Beakes, Cooley, Seaman, Joalin, Root, and Judge Lawrence, the resolutions were ordered entered upon the Court Journal : Wiikreas, Georoe Danfoetii, long a resident of ihis city, and identiüed with its interest?, social and genial ip habits and nature, public spirited and o generous impulses, has'recently bè&n' takep from our inidst by the hand oí death. And whbrbas, in his loss, an afflicted family is cullsd to rapun a kind, Hflcj in' duhjent father, and an ever cheerful ana affectionato friend and husband, and the Bar oí' Michigan parta with one of its best known members, whose goc,d nature and oveiflowing humor enliveped every session of' the Court, and softcned the aeperitiea of litigation- we dsern the occasion litting for an expression of our feelings towards one whorn wo have kaown so long, and whose good qualiiies we have estueraed. B.e it therefore, Rcsoh-cd, That we heartily sympathize with the bereaved family in the loss of a beloved husband and father, who ever surrounded himself with an almosphere of checrfulness, and whose kindly nature made hjm welcome to every cirple, apd cspocially dear to that wbic'h surrounded the fireside of home. Retolvcd, That whether we regard the loss to the profession, of one oí its oldest members, or to the city and county of one of' their best known and most public spirited citizens, we deplore the bercavement as one which will long be feit, alike in the private circles of friendship and in public places and public gatherings. And that in tokön of our fisteem for the deceased, tho usual badgo of mourning be worn by the members of this pat for tjia spaco of thirty days. Resolved, That the Judge of the Circuit Court ior the county of Washtenaw, be reouested to cr.i]se these resolutions to bo gntered on tbp Journal of the Oourt. -At the game meeting, Messrs. Seaman, Cooley, Crane, Joslin, and Twitchelj, weye appointofl a committee to draft resolutiops oí" t,-bute to the liiemqry of (Jol. Jeffords, Lieut. Col. Gilluly, Cap(,9. DePuy, Wiltsie, and Lind, and Sorgf. E. Y Clark, who have saerificed thpir lives on the ajtar of their country. „ A ponirnittee wa alsp appointed to drajt and report to an adjourned meetipg to be held Marcb 15th, a constitution for a County Bar Society.
