Senator Pomeroy, of Kansas, in some tvmarks in the Seuate on the KHh, enlarged upon the pre eminent fitness of Mr. Chase tor President.. The followmg are among the issues involved as enunciated by him : 1 Tke immediate erushing out of tlie rebulliou by cvery power in the government, without amuesty proclauiatious, etc 2. CnnstitutioDal amendments abolishing and forevor prohibiting slaverv. ' 3. The mainteuauce inviolate of the Monroe doctrine. 4. The organiüation of a system of rijjid ticiinuniy in all departmeuts of the 'Üveri)iient. 5. T li e confiscation of the property of leadinir rebels, and the organization iu the disloyal States of a república forra of Govermiient. G. The perfection of a souud system of national currency. 7 Such subordination of States to the general goverumunt as shall secure a true uationality. 8. A general adherenco to the prac tice of the govenunent fur thirty years as respecta the oneterrn policy. 9. Thorongh proteetion of individual rights, iucludiug ihe right of free speech, a freo press, and the kabeas corpus. 10. The support of a liberal protective system of foreign immigration. 11. -Extensión of aid tovvard the const-uctiou of a Pacific railroad.
