Take two pounds of ulum, bruise it, and reduce it to powder ; dissolre it in three quarts of water ; lat it remain in a warm place till the alum i diseolved. The alum water is to be appüed hot by means of a brush U very joint and creviee. Brush the crorioes ia the floor of the place, wbitewash the ceiling, putting iu plenty of alum, and there will bo an end to their dropping thence.
