On lhe first page will be found an article from the Boston Courier showing the antislavery position which the Whig par ty ought to assume and mainiain. There is no danger that the Whigs, as a party will now adopt bit) advice, Uut we deern the suggestions and general principies ot the ariicle deserving the öltcntion ol lliinking men of all parlies. In all parts of the country are found a small minority of Whigs who coincide with the writerofthe Courier, and are for taking as high antislavery ground as is consistent with the Constitution. Here is on extract from the Tippecanoe Journal, a Whig paper of Indiana. We fear the Editor will receive but a fecble response from his brother Whigs to hisstirring appeai: "THE WHIG PARTY - ITS DÜTT. "If the Whig party expects to accomplish any thing permanently beneficia) for the country, it must take higher ground. It must plant itself upon the broad yel elvated platform of the Declaration of Independence, and contend manfully for those principies, the baremention of which nerved the arms and fired the souls of the revolutionary patriots. Any thing short of this, will be unavailing for good. Let all true men, then declare for the right? Letthem devote themselves to the cause oí human liberty, and to the annihilation of every species of oppression, whether mental or physical, in the land of Washington. This should be our aim, nnd for this we should be willing o labor. Are we, asa party, prepareá to take this stond? Who answers - Ave?"
