Senatorial Convention--8th District
The Democratie Senatorial Conventiou for the 8th district, was held at Saline, Sept. lOth, 1864, at 11 o'olook, A. M. D. LeBaron, Chairinan of the Exeeutive Oommittee, called the cunvention to order, and J. D. Corey, was eleoted President, pro tem, and Geo. W. Hall, of Saline, Secrctary. Messrs. H. Burnhani, ofSaline; Galeb Moore, of York; and James Benhani, of Bridgewater, were appöinted a comniittee on eredentials, and to report the names of permanent offieers. Adjourned to 1 o'clock, P. M. AFTERNOON SESSION. Oommittee on credeutials reported list of delegates which wás adopted. Also, as permanent offieers, President- W. S. Carr. Secretar)- Gkorqe W. Hall. Adopted. The convention then proceeded to an informal ballot for a candidate for tor, as follows : For John J. Robiaon, 15 " J. D. Corey, 9 Mr. Corey withdrew his name, when on motion, J. J. Robison, of Sharon, was unanimously deolared nominated, A Senatorial District Committee was appointed, as follows : P. M. Eaton, Salino ; D. B. Dodge Ypsüanti ; and J. D. Ooroy, Manches ter.
