In the Hfe of a good man there is an Iudian summer inore beautiful than thut of our seasons - richer, sunnicr, and more sublimo than the most glorious Indian summer which the world ever knevv ; it is the Indian summer of the soul. VVhen the glow of youth is departed, when the warmth of middle age is gone, and the buds and blossoms of the spring are changing to tho sore and yellow leaf, thon the mind of tho good man, still ripa and vigorous, rolaxes its labors, and tho memories of a well spent lifo gush forth from their secret iountain, enriching, rojoicing, and fertilizing; then the trustf'ul reeignation of the Christian sheds around a swcet and holy warmth, and the soul, asauming a heavenly .lustre, is no longer restricted to the narrow confines of business, but soars far above the winter of hoary age, and dwells peacefully aod happily upon that bright spring and sijmmer that await hirn within the gateg of Paradise cvermore.
