The leuding papers .oí the böutti agree fully with IIokace üheeley that froru tha bour it ia known that another than Aisraiiam Lincoln vvill bo inaugurated President on the 4th of Maröh next, much of the " cohesión and vonom" of the rebellion vvill be destroytxJ, and tLoy therefore hope for the re-eleetion oí LÍnoolU. Read what they say : ïhe Atlanta Appcal says : ' The accession of aionservative Democrat like MeClellan to the Presidency, who uoki conduct the war upen more humano principies, who -ould repeal the emancipation pruclaia ion, aud probably make overtures to ie South to return to the Uuion, vvith gtiarantee of all constitutioual righls, ould do infinitely more to paralyze the South and build up a rtconstruction arty in our midst - a most fatal calamty - than the combined vjf'oits of the party in piower" The Richmond Dispatch says : " IÍ we could command a million of otes iu Yankeedoro, Abraham Liacolu hould have thein all " The Kichmond Examiner says : " Abraham bas been a good Erajoeror for us ; be has sorved our turu ; úis policy has settled, establifhed, and made irrevocable the eeparutiou of ihe old Unioü irito ualioua essentiully ioreign." The Mobile Register says : " As long as the Republicana hold power they will thiuk of conquest and dominion only, and vvo oü the other hand, wtll be certain to achieve freedoiii aud independence before the Democrats of the nation get into power again and come whitiperiiig in our ears uuion, recontstructiou, concession and guaraotees. Give us rather men like Thaddeus Stevens and Chas. Sumner. They curse tho old UnioD and dcHpise it, and so do we." The Kichmond Enquirer saye : " Whetber we look at this nomination in the Hght of peaco or of war, we preer Lincoln to HcClellan ! We can make better ïekms oï peace vvith an anti-slavery fanatic liko LíücoId, than with an earnest Unionist like McClellan. We can gain more military success in a war couducted on ' rny plan,' tban on one oí a real soldier like McClellan. Our best hope is from the honest fanatics, men who bolieve in tbeir hearts that slavery is the ' sum of all villainics,' aud who really and sincerely beheve it to be tbeir duty to separate their country from this ' relie of barbarism.'
