Powell's División of cavalry on Saturday last, and an account of another cnvalry vietnry over the enemy, by Custer aud Merritt, on (he sume day. Gen. Powell sent back from tbe Luray Valley as the fruita of nis chaso of Early 'e flying troopers, two pieces oj artillery, 15(3 prisonera, and a large quantity of ammnnition. Custer's and Merritt's fïghting eonsistod of several hourn' skirmishing, the rebels were finally driven back in great confusión. AVhile thia ciivalry Rkirmishini; whs in progrees, Early advancod his Infantry as far as Middletown, but itnmediiitely withdrew on the defeat of his cavalry, and returned to Fisher's Hill. The Union loss in the engagement was very small both in killed and woundd. Eurly's Infantry force is ascertained to be a considerable one, but Sheridan's men are in cxceliout condition, and in the best of spirits, and prepared for the rebels whenever they choose to come on.
