The Jetuand for the Second Series of the 7-30 Notes was so great that the Treasury Department was unable to print them with eufficient rapidity to fill the orders. It will be romembered that a hundred millions vveresubsoribod and paid ior in a single week. The printinr; presscs have finally surmountod the ditEculty, and on Wednesday, June 7th, the deliveries of the Third Series conameneed, and will be coiitinued wilh the same promptness that markod the aupply of the notes of the first and secood series. It has been this interruption oí delivery at the time of sub scription which has given an appearance of a fulling off in the popular taking of the loan, - the great body of email takers boing unwilling to pay thefr nionev unles they recuived their notes right in hand, to earry them home. It is expected that after this week the daily subscriptions to the Soven-Thirties will run up into millions, as they will undoubtedly be stimulated by the opening of the farmers' wool markets East and West. It is not at all likely tbat the Government wfll ever again offor so desirable a secunty as theso notes, and about two hundred rnilhous only remain to be taken. With the close of the war the national expenses will be vastly redueed, and investors must look for a sharp reduotion in the rato of interest as soon as the present loans become due, aud eau be paid off. There is no reason why the United Stafes crediö for muie should ever again fall below its credit for courage. The same spirit that p"eserved the gfographical integrity oí the country will place its peeuniary integrity on a par with that of the most favored nations - and that will represent a rate of interest uuder raiher than over four per cent. - Ex.
