The reception and pie nio to the returned veterans of Grasa Lake aud viciuity, on Thursday, Aug. 3d, vvas tfie greatest jubilee whioh tliat looality has witnessed for gome time, dix towns in Jackson and Washtenaw Counties, viz: Lima, Sylvan, Sliaron, Grass Lako, Waterloo and Lconi, Lad previonsly arranged to give the roturned Boldiera a weleome home whioh would show the prido feit in them for their services during the war. About ten o'clock a. ni., the delegationa irom these places began to arrive. The first was from Sylvan, consisting of a long string of carriagos, headed by a four-borse team drawing a wagon, iu the corners of wbich were placed four large taniaracs, Iroui which arches were iormed, with a lace work of evergreens and flowers for a canopy.- Forty two beautitul younggirls, dressec in white, bearing garlands of flowere, were represented in thia tableau. Near ly every team in the delegation carried bnnners, on which were iuscribed mottoes, festooned with flowers, evergreens, and Ameritan flags. Next carne Waterloo splendidly represented. 8ix horses drew the magnifieently deeorated vebicle which led the dülegation, in which were fifty-two pretty girla in white, ainong whorn wore represeutativea ot the goddee8es of Liberty, Justice and War. - Sharon, Grass Lake, Leoni and Lima, followed in the large procession. forming beautiful features of the eame. Eauh delegation had some handsome specialty, and one oí them drew, apparently, a bower of evergreens and roses, in which were over fifty yoang ladies, beautiful as houris, smothered in garlands of flowers. The procession, which was about three miles a'ong, formed, and esoorted about 750 soldiers, headed by brasa bands aud martial music, to the grove on the west side of Grass Lake, wbere an abundant supply of creature comforts had been provided, and to which the most agreeable attentions were paid. It is estimated that there were irom four to five thousand persons present, all of whom appeired to enjoy themselves to the iulest extent. After d inner, speeches were made, and responses added, until day waned uto twilight, and darkness warned the vsst coinpany that the hour for breaking up had come.
