We havo heretofore uotioed the fine evergreen soi'coqs growing ou the grounds of Elhvangur & Barry, of Rochester. On a recent visit to thoir place, one of these soi'eous presented go fiae au appearanoe as to deserve special notice. It has now boen planted about eight years, is eloven feet high, four feet tliick at the bottom, and running up in the form of a wedga, and. is as straight and even as a solid wall of masonry. - Such a screen, extcnding around a gar deu, would prnteot it f rom co!d blasts, and probably bo equal to two or three degrees of latitude in softening the severity of the climate. The Norway Spruoo like the Heuilock, growa well in the shade, and this screen soeined nourly a solid mass of verdure throughoat it interior. The Hcinlock soreens presented thé s:wuo appearance whcn examined inside. But the Arbor Vilaj, Jiuckthoru, &c, vvhich do not grow vvell iu the shade, ahvays e.xhibit nolhing bui baro sterns and branches inside, howe.vor dense ihe foiiacro may be without. -
