Very rauoh of this activity allies itself with great trunk liuss which cross the península trom east to west. - Let ub group tbeso various items of proüreis : Michigan Central. - This coropany is imroediately intereted in tho Grand Kiver Valley Rad, just fini.-hed, connecting Jack-on with Gruud Rapids, and pushing on to Muskegon ; the Fort Wayne extensión of the Jackson & Saginavf, now compluted south of Jonesville, and running trains between Jackson and Jouesville; the Lansing and Ionia, ruDoing frotn the capital to Portland, Koon o UP 'he Detroit & Milwaukee at lonia, Rud ultimately to be built to Fentwater or sorae other point on the lake ehore; and the line from HilLbdale to Ypsilanti, now under contract. Upou the Detroit & Larsing Koad much work has been doue, aud it is awaitiog the result of tho vote in Detroit.
