Wo have received the fin-t No. of the Michigan Unirenity Medical Journal, published by R. A.Beal.oC the Couriei; and edited by a committc-c of the Medtc il Faculty. It is a 64 page octavo, and if a little more care had been given to the press-work, we could f?ay oí superior typograpliicalappearanco, anti as it is, it will compare favcrably with other medical journals. The salnlatory is neatly wrltten by Prof. Cbobbt, while the leadlng articlcs are : Sympathy, by Prof. Palmer ; A case of Ovarían Tir mor, by Prof. Croshy; and a translation, " Prof. Lorain on Mortality of Puerperal Wbmen," by Prof. Sager. The selcctions, notes, etc., are of the usual Medical journal varicty, tliough therc is not quite so inuch life and vigor as we shall expect to sec when the "ilauaging Editors" get thoroughly broke to harness. The Medical Department of the University needs such a jmirual to place it in intímate conuection with the profession of the State, and we trust that it will get and keep a long list of subscribarg. 3 a year.
