Pursuantío previours nolice in the Sigtjnl, the friends of libeny of the County of Lenawee convened in the village of Blissfield, and duly nominated and appointed to the State convention held at Marshal, and olso passed a Resolve - that the friendsof the cause of Liberty, meet at the Court House in the village of Adrián the firstSáturday in August next, for the purposo of nominaling suitable candidates to represent the freemen of the county of Lenawee, in our next Leg.slature, and to transact such other business as shnll be brought before the convention. A general atlendance is most respectfully solicited. The coinrnittee feel every assurance that no one who has tho interest of the cause al heart wi!I remain al home, without a prominent excuse. The time has fully arrived for all who professto be Liberty men, to put shoulder to the whoel and move with accumulated velocity the car of Liberty. The wholo civilized world are watching with an eagle eye over every movement - war is declared ngainst us, and declared too, by n formidable foe: our numbersare but few i t is true, but our cause is just, truth forming the broad basis upon which we aro trying to erect a beauliii.il, sublime and permanent superstructure. Tlie present is a time of general apathy nmong all political parties, but fellow citizens, we are about upon tho eveofanother important and interesting conteat w bon, we areagainto be marshalled up to ilie polis, to decido an important issue - honce the impoi lance of our making in due time all necessary preparation. Let ua come togellier once more, and exchange congratulalions with each oiher that our cause s tlius onward, that our ranjcs nre thus unbroken. Every thing that possibly can be done lo dostroy any scct or party, has been done to destroy the Liberty party. During the last campaign we all remember wcll the ineans resorled lo by our Whig frionds. to secure our support in their dying ülruggle. Still we are in esse: truth lias been trampled upon, but it will, it vuist riso. Yes, let us of Lena wee at least say that it shall rise: let us by no means be behind, ín t nis important enterprise! An enterprise gone into for no otlier [urpose than lo secure the liberties and inalienable ïights ofmillions of our fellov country men. It is by some thought that our pari y as such is dcad - that we have forever laid down our wènpons- that ve intend hereafter to trust to Cassitis M. Clay and the Whig party to carry out to the letler and the spirit the noble principies of human freedom, which we have so long advocated. Such then are the notions, false as they are, entertaineJ by a large portïon of our opponents, - no, we have not laid down our armor, but as ever, I trust are ready and willing to stand forih with unundaunted bravery in the defence of those principies which lay at the foundation of our instituüons. Let us then friends of Lenawee, at the coming contest, as warm as it may be. present ourselves in an unbroken phalanx. Let us be we wise in our deliberations, and determined in our exertions, and rest assured success must and will attend our every effbrt. The convention will conveno at 2 o'clock,p. m.
