-Tbe April numbcr of this vrell-known and deservedly popular magazine is promptly on our table. It contains sixteen articles of more than ordinary merit. Tkc flrst is on "tteligious Liberty," and, as it gives the Catholic view of that subject, should be read by all. An artielo on "Mary Qucen of Scots" is a resume of Dr. Uoosack's late work, in answer to Froude's accusations against Mary that she was an accomplice to the raurder of Daruley. This article attempts to relute the accusation. There is one article that will cspecially attract tUc attention of the American people at this time. It is on "The School Question," and may be taken as the more advanced and orthodox Catholic view of that subject. We also flnd in It an article on the "Jlorality of Catholic and Protestant Countrlcs," in answer to the New Englandtr, and a long letter from Home about the Council. Every month this magazine has a letter from Uome, written by a mcinber of the Council. A nevv story of aiicient Uoine is begun in this Dumber, and it also contains sevcral other anieles on various topics, makius? it one of the beat lasoed. To Catholics thll magazine is invaluuble, and to non-Catholics it must prove intcresting, cspecially to tho-se wlio wish to know what arguments Rome puts forth in support of her cause.
