Cnnby cominamling, with beadquarters at Portland, Orogon. A new department is createtl, called the Department of Ai zona, cmbracing Arizon nnd Southern California, General Stonoman commanding. Brigadier Gen. Jaiin Pope, now in commaud of the Department oí the Lakes, is transferred to the Department of the Missouri, with headqunrtors at Leaveuwortli. The Department c! 'lic ]akes is enlarpcd to embraco the whole Borthera froutitr s far as Lako Champlain, and Brig. Gen. 8t. George Coob assigncd to the command.
