A large supply of flreworks have been purchasc;l for the evening display, aftcr which dancing will bc in order at Costello's Hall. At about 8 o'clock Sunday evenlDg, during a very severo thiinder storm, the Episcopal C'hurch was struck by lightnlng and very badly damagcd. One sidc of tlie roof was nearly destroyed, the stccple injui-ed very much, and in fact the entirc building was more or less damaged by the shock. FortunaUIy, there was no service in the church at Lhe time, the rector bcing absent from the vUlage. It is the intention of the Society to immediately repair it, and in dolng so wc woulil BUggest tliat a lightnlng rod might save the recurrence of the disaster. - The cantata of "Tlic Burnlng Shlp," which the slnger3 of this place have in proparation, will bc broaght out shortly, mul promises to be an cutertainiug plece, well rendered.
