As it is becoming quite common to use three horses now nstead of two, perhaps it would be of advantngo and a saving to somo of our young farmera to tell them bow to hitch up tbree horses, with an equalizer that, instead of costing fivo dollars for a patent article, can be made for a few cents. I take a piece of two bj four, or two by five, scantling aod boro first a bole near each end, as I would for a doublo tree ; but the pieces necd not be over nioe to twelve inches loDg ; tben bore a hole one-third of tho lcngth from ono end, and. twotbirds of toe length from tlie otber end, and attach tbe piece by a olevis and ring to the plow clevis, the longest end up ; then hitch my middlo horee to the top, and tbo team to the bottom end, or short end of the equalizer, using a long doublo tree for tho team, long enougk for a horse to work in the mitldle. By using this simple devico a saviog can be made of fivo dollars, and the equalizer is, I claim, bettcr than any other, for the simple reason that it brings the team nearer the nose of the plow beam, and consequeutly nearer tho work. - Wettern Rural. A youngster, after deep meditation, broko out to bis father : " Pa ! I know why colored people have whito palme to their hands and white soles to their feet. When the first colored man was made, ho stood on all fours while God was painting him !" Vessels recently arrived at Now York from Europo report the weather on tlio Atlantic very cul'l, with fresh gales, but uo ioe eeeu.
