We henr a good story of a man who went to the fiontier to see a friend. The 'miiily consisted of the husband, IiÍh wifo and two grown sons. Soon Toni, tho eider son, asked the visitor out to seo a colt, and takng him behind the bani pulled out a laak, remarking, "I have to keep this )id, for the old man will get drunk and he deuce is to pay," and they both took a drink and returned. Soon Bob stepped m the visitor'a toes and walked off, the visiior following. As they reaobcd the iig pen, Bob drew out a good sized bot,1e, remarking, "You know the old raan and Torn will get drunk, and I have to lide this." The visitor concluded he could not stand it to drink confidentially with tho whole family and eUrted for ïome. Some sensible person has given publicity to the following waif, which is certainly beautilul : Three things to lovo - Courage, genllene.s and affection. Three things to admire - Tntellectual power, dignity and grncofulness. Three thiugs to hate - Cruelty, arrogance and ingratitude. Three things to delight in - Beauty, frankuess and frecdom. Three things to wish for - Health, iriemls and oheerful spirits. Three things to avoid - Idleness,loquacity and flippant jesling. Three things to pray for - Faith, peaoe and purity of heart. Three things to oontend for - Honor, country and friends. Three things to govern - Temper, longue and conduct. Three things to think about - Life, death and eternity.
