We have reecived several letters frorn minister of the Gospel, asking us to give the verse in Exoiiu, upon which our Supremo Court deoided tho case referred lo in our notice of the new Supre;ue Court rooms in this city. It was the case of Stumps vs. Kelley, reported, in --d volume of "Illipoia Report," pago 142, brought by the plaintiff against ihe defendant, to recover dumages occafiioneci by the defoiidant's cow hooking ihe pUintiff. Judgc Walker, who dolivered the npinion of the court, aftei stating the faots, caid : "And appellant failing to restrain this anima!, after knowing lía propen.-ity to htiok persons, ia liahlö for thu injuries that muy result to persons by her running at liirge. 'But if thefx were wont to push with hn tiorns in time puit, and H hath been testified to hïs owner, atd he hath not kept hira n, but thot he hath killed a man or a woman, the ex shall be stoned and his owner put to ilfitli." Whcn it ia thus commanded by the Great Jehovah, when he made hia law knowo to man iu the midst of thuuders and ligbtniugs, and the deep cloud that euveloped Sinai, attesting his visible presenee, we have no right to disregani the principie of divine justice thug announctd. The principie contained in ibis revelatinn, applies with it fiill forcé to a case only ïesulting in in jury, and unquestionably requires that it shall be oompensated by payment of damages by the owoer of the animal, to the ptrson ojured."
