Wo have just a word to say to the Democratie City Convention to meet at 2 o'clock l'. M., to-day. And that is - nominóte good mui, Erom Mayor to tho foot of the ticket. A party in the rainority needs to put better inon in the field than a party with a largo majority to ratify, without question, its nominntion-, and the larfrer the minoiity the better tho candidatos should bc, that is if succéss ia desired. No party, whether in the ma jority or minority, shoilld nominato vinfit, incompetent or unwortliy men, but thore is need for more care on the part of tho niinovity. We sometimos hcar it said : It nuiles no difference tcho we nomitwli, ire taait deet," This is untrue. It does make a difference ; the nomination of unfit men will tend to keep any party in the minority, and no candidato should be nominated whom the party will be ashamed to have electod. One more thing : "Whcn the ticket is nominatcd it should be supported with the sume zoal as if its oloction was certain, and not left to certain and ovcrwluhning defeat. That minority party which works at eveiy election as if it means victory vSl dc.wrve and trlii ticlory ut the last. That's all.
