Every farmer has the means at hand of manafacturing, at small cost, one of the most valuable fertiliecrR in use froni the contente of the privy, that aro so oftcn nearly lost on account of thoir offcnsiveness or want of proper knowledge. If tho term, fertilizer, at the head of this artiolo is suggestive of adulteration, all fears of this kind will vanish after a fair trial. Early in spring make a curb of proper SÍ7.P undor cover, and place in the bottom a layer of dry muck six inches decp, or in ite a"bsenco soil will do and may be advantageously taken from the marginal elevations of ploughed fields. Upon this place a layer of the said contenta two inchos deep, and thus build up the pile in altérnate layers, using two or threo times the quantity of muck, covering the wholo with it to tho depth of ten inches. Now save all the liquids from the sleeping apartments through the sunimcr and pour upon the top, adding more muck as may be neceBiary. In one year this will be fit for use, well decomposed, frec from offensivo odor and may be handled s well as so much carth. I have used this compost in top dressing grass lands with marked resulte. Last spring a pieco thus treated was far ahead of the rest and had to fee cut ten days in ad vanee. A small quantity in corn hills will push the young plante forward, givo them a rich, dark green color and a etamina they will not forget during the season.
