Resolved ty Uu Midiigan ffesleyan Jiiclli edist Yearly Conference, That in1 the opin ion of this Conference, every shape and posi tionwhich the M. Ei. has hitherto ivtumed on the subject of Slavery, manifeste that the said church is not disposed to discard elaveholdinp as a sin, which will uppeai by the following facts. 1. That the 'M. Ê; Church SovtK1-. ar ft ia called, ig guikily connected with skvebolding, tbere can be no doubt. SL Th M. E . Church- as now coptchded for by Dr. Bond, Editor of ioVCJiriVtvMi Advoctta and Journal,- stands before 'the world w being criminally connec iei with Slavery, hJ )tc unioo tÊp BáJti mor Conference, tí o vvvhich is known to have in ils communion bot h members and minister wbo art slaveholders. 3. That those ministers and members of he M. E. Church who eympathize with the posilions of Drs. Bangs and Olin, relative to heir proposed división, are justly charged with proslavery, because of their determinaion to fraternizo with the "M. E. Church South." Rrsolved, That the action of the M. E. Church n the cose of J. O. Andrew, as re orted in their Journals, furnishes ub with no evidence of nny real repentance for the connection of that chtirch with slavery. Resolved, That it is lamentable that in qoking over that controversy in which the questiona of Slavery and Abolition forra a conspicuous part, not a single proposition embodying antislavery practice as the remedy br their difficuliiea has yet been pretented hrough their official journals, - and that of all the factions which have arisen in eaid Church, on account of the doing of their ast General Conference, not one has yet apoeared to expel slavebolding from the Church a a sin. Stvift - Resolved unanimmuly, That we will chersh a grateful remembrante of the very kind nd hospitable entertainment which the citiens of Ann Arbor and vicinity have extendd to the membera of the Wesleyan Yearly Conference during its present session. Resolved, Thnt we tender our thanks to fie Proprietors and Trustees of the Univeralist Church of Ann Arbor, for the use of heir house of worship, in which we have en - oyed the pleasure of holding this session of ur Yearly Conference. Resolved, That a copy of the above resoutions be presented to the Editora of the Signal of Liberty' for publication. In behalf of the Michigan Yearly Confernce.
