We take picasure in placiug the followiug letter bel'orc the readers of the Arous : Toledo, May, 6tb, 187. Ann Ahbok Akgüs: NoMcing an article copled froni your pa per of a recent date lnlo the Commercial of this niorning, iu which you refer to sume unewlnesB iu the mladS of soma of your cltlzena uu the quesUon, bOW the " Toledo and Aun Albor Ruilroad " is to be ironed and run wtaen gradud, the thoughtoccurred to the writer oí U1Í4 that thut qucslion would be effected very much by the route the road hall tukc north from Aun Arbor. If you sliall decide to build the road to Saginaw byeilherof the routes proposed, it miglit be u question whether any easleru ine, center'uig at Toledo, wonld be willing to do it, as we 'mve already two lines to the Sagina . Valley, and possibly we may have ono or two more by way of Detroit & Bay City and Cauada Southern &, Port Hurou. Uut should you decide to build your road to Owosso, and there form a counection wltli the Owosso & Northwest c-rn route to Frankfort, Escauaba and Du lutli, thcie eau be but Hule queslion that elther of the iour great easteru liues fiom Toledo woold grab-et the opportunity of necar!ng what must be oue of the best feeders in the State of Michig.iu. You are doobtlew awiuv that the roa J from Owosso uortliwest is beiug rapidly built, aud that the portion between Owosso and Alma, a thrivlng town on the Piue Kiver, in üratiot County, will be coinpleted tliis seuson j This road ruus thtOOgb as line farmiugand lamberlng lands as there are iu the State, and there eau be uo questioa that the road will pay, espec'ully wheu we consider that this generatiou will probably see most of the pine tiuiber cut and inarket.ed on the water courses, and that we must rely on these Intemal roads for most of our luin ber. Now it may be thought easy enODgh to secure the ironlog ot the road from Toludo to Ann Arbor, but if jou wish to n.ake the question doubiy sure, secure au early aliluDCu witli the " Owosso ie N'ortliwestern." It would seem that Toledo nor .SagiiKiw eouM have a very deep interest In the building of another line between thelr citius, but direct your line to the northwest and it is easy to see that Toledo will have a great Interest in it. Yours, Toledo. Note. - Onr Toledo correspondent is probubly not cognizant of the fact that the Dortheru terminas of the "Toledo, Aun Arbor and Nortbern Rallroad " is öxed by the articles of assuciatiou at Owosso, and thttt tlr; very coonectlou iie sugests was Iu the ra'.nds of the orjganlzent. Tlie " E.tst Sagluaw and Aun Arbor Company," haviug !.s route troco E;ist Saglnaw to this city via Corauua, is au independent oivaniZiition, and the Flushiug route lias proba b!y been giveu up.
