Eaq., who was present at the celebration roforrod to, for the following paragraph, which, we imagine, can not be easily beatón : At the cclobration of tho one-hundredth anniversary of thefirst Bettloment of the TJpper Susquehanna VaHey, at Sidney Plains, N. Y., on the 13th day of June last, tho ropresontatires of fivo gonerations of ono family were present and standing side by sido in tho ordor of their ages, and were rapturously appluuded by tho audionce. It was an extraordinary feature in this oxhibition that oach goneration was ropreHOutated by a male, and he tho first-born of his goneration : Cooko St. John, aged 99 ; T. 8. St. John, aged 75 : Williana St. John, aged 50 ; George St. John, aged 2(i ; and Benjamin St. John aged 5. All aro resideiils of tho samo town and villago, and live within a circuit of half a mile, and aro in vigorou3 health. Tho Patriaron of tho family addressed a few words to tho audience, sayiug that ho had buon a working man all his days, and strongly commcnding tha young who heard him, if they would livo long, to follow his exampiL.
