Democratic Convention,--3d District

Pursuant to cali a Democratie convention was held at the village of Saline, on Friday, October 4th, for tho purposo of norainating a oandidate for Representative in the Stato Legislatura for the third Representativo District of Washtenaw County. Tho convention was organized by olecting the following officers : President- Hon. Aarox Chii.ds, of Augusta. Secretanj - Hon. J. D. ConEY, of Manchester. Proceoding to nomínate, lijn. MalCOL1I McDocGALL, of Bridge water, received a majority on tho first informal ballot, and was unaniinously declared nominated. Tho following District Committoe was appointed : Messrs. E. Jones, J. D. Corey, and J. M. Kelsey. On motion the prceedings were ordered puiilished in the MICHIGAN Argus, after wiiich thq convention adjourned sine die. 1 1 m 1 1 Two American citizens havo been naturalized and elected to the Canadian Parliaraent.
