Our nominen for Prosecuting Attorney, Dexsmoiie Ckamkk, made a splendid speech, argumentativo, logioal, convincing. Many present remarked that it was the ablest speech they liad hoard tlns campttign. - Mr. IIewitt, of Mitnchester, made agood argumeut to provo tho unsafety of eleot ing military chioftains to high civil positions ; and he urgod upou the meeting the necessity of giving a warm support to all the candidatos, National, State and County, on the Liberal and Democratie ticket, üur nominóos for ShMiff, Clerk. Register of Deeds, and County Treasurer being present were called out. As it was getting lato eacli spoko brieily, and all wero enthusiastically eheered. And last, though not least, our young townsman, George Kawson, a Liberal, biug called out mudo a short hut eloquent appeal for all good citizons to support HOBACÏ (kkf.t.ky, a statcsman, scholar, and philosophcr, for the Prcsidenej-, when the meeting adjournod by giving threo rousing cheers for the speakers. Mc. Tin; Bourbon Convention held at Jack son nominated as one of the candidatos for Prcsidential Elector Hhnuy IIayuex, of Bay County. Mr. Haydkn writos from Connt'cticut to a frieud in tliis city, that ho has not had a residence in tho Stato for over threo and a half years, and, bosides, that ho is not a " boltor" but is a supporter of GnEELEY and Buowx. Ho thinks that somo ono perpetrated a silly joke on the Bourbons. Wï OKT a gootl report from tho meetings of Dr. Maiiax ut Manchester, Salino and Ypsilanti. Ho had rospoctable audiences, and m;ido convincing speecht s. - A Saline correspondüiit of the Vree Prul is very onthusiastic over his speech there, and claims that many of his licpublican hearers wero "almoet persuadod."
