To prevent the solos from shrinking they should be well saturated with linseod oil before they are worn. Tho writer once wore a pair of .iïgtit calf-skin boots in the wet beforo tho soles were oiled, and in drying they shrauk endways more than bnlf au inch, and' during the year the soles shrank moro than three-fourths of an inch.
