-For the past ten yoars wo liave raised theni in great abundance, - in fae1;, have cooked none other tor dry. The fust year or so we founcl difficnlty in ripening them, as we piokëd for the table as fast as they were ready There are only two points, f obeerved, will insure succcss. The first is to pinch off the top of each vine whon they have reaohed the top of the stake, say 6 i'oet, and the second is earefully to save the 'earliest pods for seed. Many writers suy that they must be planted eye down, etc. We never practico it ; we put the ground in nice order, when it is warm eiiough, and plant as any other benoas, four tn a hill, and they g-onprally all come. By saving the earliest for seed, we have them nice for the table three weeks earlier than
