Council met in regular ïnonthly session on Monday evoning, June 2d. Present, Mayor, Eecorder, and all the Aldermen except Aid. Kogors. We abstract tho proceedings, as follows : Petitions were reoeived and referred : For lamp posts and latnps in tho Seoond ward : at the corner of Williams and Second streets ; at the corner of Liberty and Third west streots; at the corner of Liberty and Fifth west streets ; and at the north end of Thompson street, First ward. To Lamp Committee. For tho opening of Wilmot street from Washtenaw Avenue to Elm street. To Street Committee. For a sidewalk in front of lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, block one, Hill's Additiou. To Sidewalk Committee From A. E. Hall, baker, asking to be oxempted from payiug $100 lieeuse as a riuepcjr of a victualing house. Laid over until next meeting. Sündry bilis were allowed, chargeable to geno rul fuud, general strcet fund, aud ward funds, oud eundry other biüs reftrred back, intsluding bilí of C. B. Grant for certifícate or further investigaron. Bill of Justice MoMahon was referred to City Attorney. The Streot Committee was instruotcd to establish the grade of the gutter, for paving, on the south side of Huron stieet, botween Fourth and Second streots. The subjoet oí' a sidewáik in front of the jail was refcrred to Sidewalk Coiuruittee. The alley between Main and Fourth streets running t'rom Washington to Liberty, was ordered graded for paving, to be charged to the First ward fund. The bonds of the Recorder aud of the Street jCommissioner for the First and Steeend wurds were approved. The Cüy TYeasurt-r's bond was refrrod to City Attoiuey, tor report at next meeting. The matter of purchasing-tn addition to Fifth ward Coinetery was referred to a committee consisting of A!d Ktiodes, Leían i and Deabel, with power to purchase at not to exceed $600 A lauip was ordertd on Washtenaw streut, Fiflh ward, in front ot' resideuoe of Airs. Uowles. A meeting of' the Council fcr Monday evening, June 9tli., was ordered for hearing the tpplicati on for tbe opening or continuation of Wells stieet, in Baldwiu'a third additinn, and tLe Recorder was directed' to notii'y p.trties interested to appear. A resolution proviiling for a re-organizatiou of the Board of Health and the fippointment of a practioing physician as a meiuber of the same was laid over. The Marshal reported appointment of Geo. E. Schwab as Deputy Marshal iu place of Christian Weitbrecht, not qualified ; and of D. M. Finley in place of J. H. Peebles. Appointment confirrned. Adjourned on e week.
