From the Detroit Free Press. i Michigan Cínthal Yabds, Monday, June 23. The receivj e a'. these yards from the various points in tlie State for four weeks were as follows : Cattlo. Hof?f!. Sherp. The market opened very closely, buyera trying to secure lots at lower ratea than last week's rulings, and partij' succeeded in so doing, though sonie sold at a very fair figure. The home demaud was brisker, the inquiry being altogether confinud to cholee heads for beef, and this cali was pretty well filled by a few car loads of extra Illinois stock . The quality of Micliipan calt'e is somewhat improving and better enablea holders to realice good prices. There was a yury light cali for stock ers and at ratea off about 25c. Under sales made we quote : Chulee to extra, ftverpinf? 1,000 to 1,209 lb.., in ood üesh and build $5 30@6 50 (Jommon to cnoice, areroffing 1,000 to 1,200 fts , in medium 8esh nnd build.. . . 4 Ï5SÏ6 26 Stookera, averaKUig 800 to 1,00j lbs 3 50ffl4 oo Liffht cattle, 60U to 800 lbs 2 504j3 25 HOOS. There was nothing in this line of a local nature, the lots shipped here coming from Chic;igo and to our packiug houses. Only for the modern devices for slaughtering during the slimmer season pork would scarcely command shipping rates. Hovvever, as it is now, heavy hogs bring in the neighborhood of SI per hundred ; store about Sí 50, and block $3 50. SHJSEJ?. There are so few lots brought into market that holders can easily dispose of them at mediumly fair rates. Tliose in this week averaf;ed a Httle more and were of a finer quality. One lot, sheared, averaged 85 lbs. and sold for 4 35.
