Chicago, July 9. - Telegraphic reports frora numerous points in Illinois and Iowa, covering the greater part of these States, show that while the recent severe ruin storms have considerubly duniaged tb wheat crop, particularly in localitie where it was just ready to harvest, there will be fully an average erop. Oats have suffered, more being badly lodged, and ii many places will have to be mowed Corn gener.'illy locks well, and with favorable wuaüiir will inake a full average crop. Peokia, III., July 9.- The crops within a radias oí' twenty-five miles from this place are very fair. Wheat is being harvested and is about two-thirds of a crop. Iiye and hay are good, but all have been been injured more or less by the late rain. In Fulton County crops are not so good, having been injured more by storms in the earlier part of the season. In Tazewell and AVoodford Counties crops are about the same as in "eoria County, but are suffering from the reeent ntins. If the weather fairs out now but little grain or hay wiil be damaged. A few mora duys ruin will do very serious damage. The New York 2'nüune observes that " Louisiana is at peace, but it is the peaoe of prostration, and, practically, the only goverument iu the State is the Federal (iovtrnment. The voice may be that of , Kellogg, but the hand is that of the ] ident." ' At New Orleans on Tuesday the ' sury indicated í6 degrees. Thres i strokes are reported, one fatal.
