The raftgmen have their little peculiartits, dlffioultieg, sports and trouble?, as rell as other pople, and probibly enjoy life as well in the tuain as anybody e!sp. As long as crews belonging to tne streatn keep together matters move on toleiablv emooth, but whin crews from different boom conipntiies Oomo in contact, there it, alwaya a atíngele to got the advantaae of the other in one way or anotber- BOtnetiines in a good natured soit of a way, but not unfrequently some one gets nis nose pueled, or an eye biacked. The point where the Tittabawowee emptiee into Saginftw, just below the muuth of the ',ts, is the open battle gronnd, or niost enpecially, the ky of opera t ion e. Xlit: Tittabawa88Se raftsnien have tho advantage of pooition, as by running out and fyins Op rafts they can blockado both the liad Kiver and the Cass Kivor raftsuien, and cause tbem a great deal ot annoyance. Just at this time there is a big jam of loga iti the river, sotne 17 rafts in all biing tied out frum the boom to tho Bristol strei-t bridge, and the river withm this territory is a complete jam ot logs in rafts. The atnount is estimated at A5,000 pieoes, or abont 17,000,000 feet of logs. Of this atnonnt 12 mfls belong to the Tittabawassr, two to Cuss Kiver and thrce to Bad Kiver. Thu Cass Kivir logs are under the management of Will Bridges, and the B;td River logs, which come down the Shiawassee, under the charge Toni Cresvvell. Early yesterday moriiing, taking aüvantage of the inovement of the logs, Bridges worked a Cass River r-ift down in front of the mouth of the Tittabawassee and anchored. This obstructs the Tittabawassco for the present, and gives the Cass River folkí control of the ground, which, at thia time, considoring the jam of logs and the necessity of mov" ing them, is a big thing. Having gainec ihis position, Bridgos moved down an other raft, and by a combination witl Creswell, the Bad River logs are movet down to the Cass Ri ver logs, thus makini a continuoiia string of five ratts, a!l o: which will have to be moved before the Tittabawassee men can get out any mort logs. There are more logs in the river at th's time tban Ht any other tiuic before, and the sight prusenttd is a fine one.
