This apparently artificial diot will bo soen to be natural if we remember that wild birds of the gallinaoeous species get access to vory inany highly apiced berries and buda ; articlea that give tho "game ilavor" to their flesh. The ordinary food of the domestic fowl is not, indeed, entirely without some such addition, still there ia more or less of' au aromatic principie in wheat, Indiau coru, and all other grains. Nuvortheless it Í8 uot sufficient iu quantity to supply thc place of the stronger spices, a taste for which is part of tha fowl'i inherited constitution.
