A Kiss In The Dark

-A voungr New York gentleman stopping at one of the lower hotel requosted the proprietor to chango his room, as the next apartment to his was occupied by that torment to bachelors, a crying baby. When ho arrived frora New York he went off to take a drhe, and on hia return to the hotel he was shown to his new apartment, with the information that the baggage of the former ocoupant had not yet been removed, but that it would be taken away during the course of the evtining. It was growing dark, so our hero sat down by the window to indulge in a little twilight meditation, and possibly acigar. Suddenly the door opened, the frou-frou of a woman's dress was heard, and a soft voice exclaimed, "Why, Jack, dear, when did you come down? I am bo glad!" and simultaneously with the exclamation he found himself " Teuderly clasped in loving embrace, With a pair of long lashes just swöeping his lace."
