WASHINGTON, Sept. 2. - A report preails that the Oeneva avvard of $15,500,0 has alrèady been paid into the treasry, but on inquiry it has been ascerained that the preliminary arrangeíents only have been made. ïo this nci, on the flth of June, the Seeretary of ie ïreasury issued an order for the redemption of a series of 5.20 bonds, more than covering the amount of the award. In anticipation of its payraent the British Government arranged with the syndieate to discharge this treaty obligtion. In pursuance of the plan adopted a large amount of these bonds have been surrenderad to the treasury and gold certificates issued therefor, to be made available on and after September (ith, at ie time of formal redemption of bonds. These gold certitioates, it is understood, are in the hands of the British Consul at iew York, to be delivered with other ike representations of spetiie, tlreir valué oovering the entire award, by the British tfinister to the Secreter? of State, and by hira transferred to the troasury as so uiuoh cash.
