MiNNEAPOus, Mixx. Oct 17. - The Tribnue has the foUowing regarding the Northern Pacific Railroad : Gene ral Managor C. W. Mead, of the Northern Pacific Railroad, was in tho city yesterday, and in thn course ot' a oouversation he stated that it was proposod by the management to opérate the rond as far as Jamestown this winter, certainly, as the road is Bupplied with anow fences, etc, to that point. If the winter is not a severe one the traius will be run to Bismarek, but if it is at all hard, théy will be discontinued. Jamestown is about one hundred miles west of Fargo. The work on the road is to bo begun and prosecuted with vigor in tlie spring Gen. Cass has appointed the foUowing gentlemen as oominissionerg to examino and leport upon the condition of the road : A. C. Bands, of Cincinnati ; George W. Steelo, of Pitinesville, Öhio, and Gen. W. Gr. Ledac, of Hastings. These gentlemen will start, frotu St. Paul this forenoon in a special car, and with Mr. Mead will go over the road. Their report will be looked for with interest.
