Clearing House Rules
If the following rules shall be adopted it will be evidenoe that there is a little common sense left in the craniums of New York bunkers : Tho Governing Committee of the Clearing-House Association have subinitted the following rules for adoption by the aasociated banks: Fint - No bank shall pay or procure to be paid interest on deposits. Second - No check shall be certified unless ihe full amount is first deposited. Tliird - Checks upon associated banks only received on deposit. Fourth - Checks upon places out of New Hork city received at the rates of discount fixed by the clearing-house committee. Fifth - Checks will be taken at depositors' risk and colleeted through the Clearing House. SLrth - Checks not good will be returned to depositors tlie day following. Banks not strictly observing these rules will beexcluded fromthe Clearing-House Association. The foregoing rules have been submitted and if accepted will go into effect in January 1874.
